If Christopher Nolan makes his third Batman film anything like the first two, then we should be in for a treat. And I must say, this first peak at The Dark Knight Rises seems very promising. Fans of the series can expect the return of stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman, and also count on more big names arriving such as Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy, and Marion Cotillard. I wonder if there’s any chance of this one earning an Oscar nomination for Best Picture, especially after the Academy’s refusal to give one to The Dark Knight in 2008. I doubt that their opinions on Nolan and his films will suddenly change this year, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
